## Matrix vs XMPP



Matrix ist das neuere, funktionsreichere Protokoll — Föderation, Rich Media, End-to-End-Verschlüsselung via Megolm, Bridging. XMPP ist älter, leichter und hat bessere Akku-Lebensdauer auf Mobilgeräten. Für die meisten Communities ist Matrix die richtige Wahl; für technische/IRC-artige Communities ist XMPP weniger overhead.

Synapse (Matrix): 2 GB RAM Minimum, 4 GB für 10-50 Nutzer, 8 GB für 100+ Nutzer. Dendrite (Matrix) ist viel leichter. Prosody (XMPP) läuft komfortabel auf 1 GB RAM für 100 Nutzer. VPS-S deckt XMPP ab, VPS-M deckt kleines Matrix ab, VPS-L für seriöses Matrix.

Ja. Standard-TCP-Ports sind offen. Konfiguriere DNS-SRV-Records, installiere ein gültiges TLS-Zertifikat (Let's Encrypt funktioniert), und die Föderation mit matrix.org und jedem anderen Homeserver funktioniert out-of-the-box.

Wird meine IP von anderen Matrix-Servern geflaggt?



Unsere IP-Bereiche sind nicht auf Matrix-ACL-Blocklists. Wenn ein spezifischer Homeserver dich blocklisted, ist das ihre ACL, nicht ein Netzwerkproblem.

Kann ich eine Bridge (Discord/Signal/WhatsApp) betreiben?



Ja — mautrix-Bridges laufen gut auf VPS-M oder VPS-L. Jede Bridge verdoppelt etwa den RAM-Footprint.

Was ist mit Voice/Video (Jitsi)?



Jitsi Meet läuft auf VPS-L oder Dedicated (braucht CPU für WebRTC-SFU). Nutze VPS-M für 5-10 gleichzeitige Video-Teilnehmer, VPS-L für 30+.
